What moves the palladium price?
- Petrol-vehicle production. Catalytic converters account for most demand, so car production and emission rules drive the price.
- Electric vehicle adoption. A shift to electric vehicles reduces long-run autocatalyst demand.
- Supply and sanctions. A large share of supply comes from a few producers, so policy and logistics matter.
- Recycling. Recovered metal from scrapped converters is a meaningful part of supply.
