Live Silver Price (XAG/USD)
Silver is both a precious metal and an industrial input. About half of annual demand comes from industry, including electronics and solar panels, while the rest is investment and jewellery. That mix makes silver more volatile than gold.

What moves the silver price?
- Industrial demand. Solar, electronics and electrification use silver, so industrial cycles feed into the price.
- Gold price direction. Silver often follows gold, but with larger percentage moves in both directions.
- The US dollar and rates. The same macro drivers that move gold, a strong dollar and rising real rates, usually weigh on silver as well.
- Investment flows. Coin, bar and ETF demand can swing quickly, especially when gold is rallying.
